Initially, three separate planning applications: -Change of use of the existing Arden House building from offices and warehousing to offices and light industrial. -Erection of extension to Arden House. -Erection of tower block of offices, with (Shell-Mex and B.P.) petrol filling station on the ground floor. Combined project is abandoned as agreement cannot be reached with the County Planners Department. Co-developers(Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd.) have withdrawn and will erect a simple filing station. Arden House extension to go forward in isolation-a revised and much smaller building. Includes a letter from R.G. Dawson, Grovebury Properties to The Editior, Leighton Buzzard Observer, 14, High Street(January 1973) concerning an article in which he states "How nice if all the developers would make the same New Year resolution - to pull their fingers out".
