Report of Charles Hills, Publican of Arlesey, who kept the white Horse. Hills had refused to serve James Dear with liquor when he came into the White Horse because he could see that he had had enough. Hills told Dear to leave the House. Dear hit Hills in the eye and on the forehead. Again Hills asked Dear to leave but he refused. Hills sent for the Policeman but he wasn't at home. Dear sat down and and while Hills was serving his customers threatened to 'rip Hill's B-- guts out and kill him'. When Hills came out of the parlour Dear pointed at him and said 'the B-- I mean he with the black cloth on'. Mrs Cherry, who was nursing Hill's wife, came out and pulled Dear on the ground. Report of Frances Cherry who said Hills refused to serve Dear with beer and that Dear then threatened to rip Hills' guts open and hit him twice. Mrs Cherry caught hold of Dear and pulled him back. Report of Joseph Rainbow who was also in the White Horse and saw Hills refuse to draw beer for Dear. He saw Dear get up and hit Mr Hills. Fine 10/-. Costs 10/6. Witnesses 10/-.
