- TitleOccurrence Report of PC David Wootton stationed at Biggleswade. He was on duty on the London Road when he found 2 men lying in the road side opposite Mr C S Lindsell's carriage. When PC Wootton enquired what they were doing one was very civil, got up and went away. The other, Edmund Thomas Pearson, who was very drunk made use of abusive and threatening language. When PC Wootton tried to get Pearson up he became violent and struck out at the policeman. PC Wootton sent for Superintendent Bedlow and together they got Pearson into a cart and took him to the Police Station. Fine 9/-. Costs 6/- or 14 days hard labour. Committed.
