    Folio 159 - John Grane of Shitlington made 4 Apr. 1559. No date of probate. Soul to God, the BVM and the holy company of heaven, and burial in churchyard of Shitlington. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to high altar of Shitlington 12d.. To wife Agnes all the goods and chattels that her hers before he married her, and she is to have as much grain of testator’s old crop as will find her, John Fipe and her maid until the crop now growing be brought home. To wife Agnes also ten quarters of barley of his new crop and 4 quarters of beans. To John Fipe ten quarters of barley and 4 quarters of beans, also two brass pots (a bigger and a lesser) and also the best brass pan. To wife Agnes the second best pan and the middle brass pot containing a pottle [two quarts] , three pewter platters, a candlestick and a red cow. To wife Agnes a two year old black hewed steer, and a steer of the last year’s weaning. To John Fipe a black heiffer. To wife Agnes and to John Fipe two steers, and a steer each to John Hill and Roger Boninge’. To Robert Pearson an acre of pease lying together on Short Suttyn. To wife Agnes a half acre of wheat turning upon Robert Borowes headland at the Hanginge Hill. To the children of John Hillis and of Roger Longe a through one acre of wheat in Aston to be divided equally between them. To Roger Longe an acre of pease in Short Suttyne. To wife Agnes all the wood in the yard both timber and other. The remaining other half acre of wheat to John Fype To John Person a quarter of barley. To Joane Bunyon (his wife’s daughter) 3s. 4d.. To John, Joane and Jane, the children of Thomas Parsone 2 bushel of barley each, and their 6 children 2 bushel of pease. To goddaughters Marie Pearson and Agnes Hethe 2 bushel of barley.
