    Folio 154d - Thomas Heatley of Rysley, tanner, made 18 July 1558, in the 4 and 6 years of “Kinge Philipe and Quyne Mairye” pr. 9 Jan. 1558/9. “I commend my soule unto the allmightie and everlastinge God my maker and Redymer and to all the company in heaven” and burial in churchyard of Allhalowes in Reysley. To the high altar there for forgotten tithes 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the upkeep of Rysley church 12d.; to the bells there 12d.; on the day of his funeral or burial 12s. worth in money or bread be given to the poor people. To son William Heatley the best shod cart with three cart horses with a plough and the cart gear and plough gear, To him also 3 acres of arable land which is to be dressed in every field or soil to be taken from Hollenges Farme lands from the part that testator gives to his son John Heatley. To eldest son John Heatley the tenement or farm called Hollenges and Barres with all land arable, mead, feedings, and pasture as is laid together this day in town of Rysley, paying each year to testator’s wife Margret for the term of her life at the usual feast days 13s. 4d. in “consideracion of the feydinge and bringinge upe of all my yonge children and hers”. To son William Hatley and his heirs testator’s other tenement called Waulkers with all the arable land sometimes Mallories land and a close called Mayesclose together as now occupied at the present day in town and fields of Rysley, paying yearly to testator’s wife Margeret as above the sum of 13s. 4d.. To testator’s son Thomas Heeatley and his heirs the two cottages and Meade Close sometimes Mallories of Rysley and the tileyard with the pits and the arable land which abuts against the said pits containing more than one acre, all of which are to be held by wife Margeret until son Thomas comes to the age of 21 years. To son Robert Hatley and his heirs the tenement sometime Frowntes and now in tenure of John Parrys with a mead close called Feruntes Close in the town and fields of Reysley, which property is to be held by wife Margeret until son reaches the age of 21. To wife Margeret testator’s tenement where he now lives sometime Lancastres with all standings and Frowntes Close for the term of her life, reversion to son Robert and his heirs. To each of his daughters Elizabeth, Margeret, Agnes, Elynour and Margery 40s., when they are able to marry, and to fund this be leaves all the trees and lops of tress as are now standing in or about Frondes Close, and also all underwood or trees now standing on the ground of Hollengers. Residue to wife Margret to distribute among his children as she shall think good. Executors eldest son John Hatley and wife Margeret, with supervisor Robert Butman, to whom 2s. Witnesses Francis Lewes gent.; Robert Robert otherwise Penyton and John Chaundeler, carpenter. To be noted that son William Hatley during the life of testator’s wife Margeret shall each year cultivate the three acres of arable land in the field with his nine acres, which is to be taken out of the land called Hollengers land in Reysley
