    Folio 144d - Mathew Staunton of Eversholte, yeoman, made 16 Sep. pr. 25 Oct. 1557. Soul into the hands and mercy of allmighty God and burial in the church of church yard of Eversholte. To the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to the high altar of Eversholte 4d.. All his goods are to be divided equally into three parts by his executors. Wife Anne Staunton to have the first choice of his goods, and the other two parts to go to testator’s four children, that is to say Francis Staunton the eldest son, Marie and Lettisse his daughters, and George his youngest son. Executors are Richard Same, testator’s brother John Staunton bailiff of Woborne, and brother Thomas Staunton The share of any child dying to be divided among the survivors. Wife to bring up the children while she remains unmarried. When she marries then executors to take the children and their stocks and see them brought up until the sons come to the age of 20, and until the daughters marry. Executors are as aforesaid Richard Borne [sic], brother John Stanton and brother Thomas Staunton. His overseer to be his brother William Staunton, and each of executors to have 3s. 4d., and the overseer 20d.. Witnesses Robert Turnour, Robert Bucke.
