    Folio 132d - Robert Franklyne of Marston, husbandman, made 1 Dec. pr. 13 Dec. 1557. Soul to almighty God, to our lady saint Mary and all the holy company in heaven, and burial in the churchyard of Marston. To church of Lincoln 2d.; to high altar of Marston for tithes forgotten 4d.; to be given at his burial to the choir and to the poor of the town 20s.. To his son John the ground where testator now dwells with the appurtenances according to the custom of the manor and Thomas Grene to occupy the same until John shall come to full age, that is 18 years, and then son to occupy it himself. Should son die, then ground to remain with Thomas Grene if he can agree with the lord of the same manor. To son John also testator’s lease of certain ground lying between testator and William Franklyne for the remaining years, which Thomas Grene is to occupy also until son comes of age at annual rent of 3s. 4d.. Thomas Grene to have remainder of lease of this also if son should die. Thomas Grene to enter on all testator’s properties after his death “to keape and bringe upe my children”.and he is to have the 5 store hogs, and give an equivalent 5 to son John when he comes of age. To son John the shod cart with plough, harrows and all things appertaining to husbandry, 2 horses , testator’s best cow and the cow with one horn, a yearling bullock, the best black sheep, 4 pairs of sheets, a table cloth, a spit, cobirons, a “gesse” pan, 4 platters, a saucer. To testator’s daughter Ales a brown cow, 2 bullocks, one a “bulcher” the other a steer bullock, a brass pot, a spit, cobirons, 4 pair of sheets, a mattress, a bolster, a blanker, a pillow, a coverlet, 2 platters, 2 dishes, a saucer, a pan with 2 ears, a kettle without a bail, the bedstead in the nether chamber with the hangings, a black coffer in the same chamber, 2 tubs, a new cupboard, a towel, the best ewe. To daughter Margeret a cow with a calf, a red hued cow, a brass pot, 2 platters, 2 dishes, a saucer, a great old pan, the best coverlet, 4 pair of sheets, the large coffer, the featherbed, a bolster, a pillow, a blanket, a tub, a table cloth, a black sheep. To daughter Joan £5 in money to be given into the hands of Thomas Franklyne until she comes to the age of 18 years, the black cow with a white face, a brass pot, a bullock of this year, 5 pair of sheets, 2 platters, 2 dishes, a saucer, a latten basin. 2 of the best coffers, a mattress, a blanket, a bolster, a pillow, a green coverlet, a towel, a tub, the black wether pug. To Elizabeth Greane the brown bullock of a year old and a “vantage”, 5 sheep, the rest of testator’s pewter and of his sheets, the better brass pot, and to Elizabeth’s daughter Ales a sheep. All his new board is to be divided equally between testator’s four children . The kine given to his children are to be kept on the ground until such time as they can be let out when they have calves by their sides. Thomas Grene is to pay to testator’s four children 6s. 8d. a piece at May Day next, and the portion of any child dying to be divided among the survivors. The hovel in the yard with the square timber to go to son John and the “steping” vat. Residue to son John.
