    Folio 131 - William Luffe of Thurley made 13 Oct. pr. 19 Nov. 1557. Soul into hands of almighty God and our blessed Lady and all the holy company of heaven and burial in church yard of Thurley. To Lincoln minster 2d.; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 4d.; to the bells 8d.. To son Robert Luffe a shod cart and the sorrel gelding with its girths. Also a heifer and an iron rake. To son Richard Luffe a cow called Selke. To son John Luffe a black cow called Swallowe and a chest. To son Thomas Luffe dwelling in Dedington a great brass pot and 20s. in money for his pains taking. To son Thomas Luffe dwelling in Thurley a quarter of barley and 3 bushels of wheat and 2 bushels of malt. To testator’s wife Agnes 2 horses and one cart with one pair of [?.....] panniers and the horses’ harness. To son Alen Luffe a three year old white colt with harness. To son William Luffe a “gornell”. To son Gerard Luffe a brown horse and its gear with a cow called Tidy. To son Richard Luffe 2 ewes. To wife Agnes a cow called Lyly and a cow called Bryndell. After his legacies have been delivered, then sons Robert, Gerard and John to have half of the farm where testator lives for one year, that is to say Gerard and John to have 2 parts against Robert having one part of the said half farm, and testator’s wife Agnes to have the other half. After the one year, then son Thomas Luffe of Dedington to have the lease of the whole farm saving the rights to half of the farm of testator’s wife Agnes if she remain a widow. After death of son Thomas then lease to go to son William, and successively one son to another”as God dothe call them” To daughter Margaret a black cow bullock of a year old. To son Richard Luffe 2 ewes. To daughter Anne/Ame Luffe one brown yearly and a cow bullock. To son Mathew Luffe a steer calf with a short tail. To [?]Merione Luffe a black steer calf. Provided always that if son Thomas Luffe of Goldington does not agree to fulfil all the provisions in the will and testament than he is to have no part of testator’s lease or farm. No son is to move any of the hovels that stand in the yard, nor any of the garners until the last year of the lease. To Thomas Yonge a quarter of barley and a ewe and a lamb. To daughter Elizabeth a quarter of barley. To daughter Grace 2 bushels of barley. To Thomas of Dodington an ox team. To wife Agnes 3s. 4d. Residue to wife Agnes, and to Robert and Gerard and John , she to have half and they the other half. Executors are to be son Thomas Luffe of Dedington and testator’s wife Agnes, and supervisors to be Master the Vicar and son Thomas Luffe of Thurley, they to have 3s. 4d. each. William Luffe.
