    Folio 112d - Thomas Dilington of Elstowe, made 9 May pr. 16 Sept. 1557. “I bequeth my soule unto allmightie God my maker and Redymer and my body to be bured in the churche yard of Elstowe”. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar 12d.; to the poor men’s box 4d.. All goods, moveable or unmoveable, to wife Ane until testator’s son comes to lawful age, or is married, provided she remain single, at which time she is to give half of the goods to son William when he comes of age or marries. Should wife remarry or die, then she is to have delivered the child’s portion to testator’s brother-in-law Thomas Childe When said brother has paid £3 to wife then she is to pay to John Edwardes, the son of testator’s sister, 5s.. Should his son die, then everything to go to wife Ane, who is to have the residue and be his executrix with Thomas Childe executor. Witnesses George Wauton gentleman, William Heys, bailiff.
