    Folio 71d - Robert Lylyat of the town of Kempston, made 10 May pr. 19 May 1557. Soul to almighty God, to his blessed mother our lady St. Mary and to the blessed company in heaven, and his body to be buried in churchyard of Kempston. Mortuary as the law admits. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.. To the maintenance of the bells half a quarter of corn. To all godchildren, both within the town and without, 2d. each. His wife to have all the profits of his ground at Stacheden for 3 years excepting one acre of barley and half an acre of pease which are to be divided amongst testator’s own children. At the end of the three years testator’s son John Lylyat to enter on the same ground. To John also a cow and a three-year old bullock and a weaning calf of this year. To son Richard Lylyat a couple of oxen, which testator’s wife is to have the use of for four years. To Richard also a three year old bullock and a ewe and a lamb. To his daughter Christian a yearling bullock and a ewe and a lamb. To daughter Marget a yearling bullock and a ewe and a lamb. To son John for the 2 wethers that testator sold, a yearling calf. To his wife’s son Edward Lenton a yearling bullock and a ewe and a lamb. To wife’s daughter Eliz. Lenton a cow and a three year old heifer, and to her also a cupboard that came from Stacheden, and a load of wheat. A lamb each to William Lenton, John Lylyot; Joan Lenton; Marian Lenton; Raffe Lenton; Alis Lenton; Eme Lenton; Anne Lenton; and Elizabeth Lylyot. To Robert Lylyat a ewe and a lamb. To Edward Collyns and John his brother a lamb. Should any of the children die before they marry or have issue lawfully begotten, then their legacies to be divided among the survivors of each family, his children in one group, and his wife’s children as another group. To the rood loft of Stacheden 2 bushels of barley. To his wife’s sister Elizabeth Savage half a bushel of barley. To Thomas Wyngynsse half a bushel of barley. To son [?]John, 2 ox chains and a coulter and the tyre of his best cart after the wheels are worn. To son Richard Lylyot an ox chain and a coulter. To son John Lylyot a coffer and to daughter Christian a forcer [small chest]. To John Lylyot the table standing in testator’s house at Stacheden. Residue to wife Marget, who is to be one executor with Edmund Radwell the other, and the supervisor to be John Smythe the younger, each to have 5s. for their work. Witnesses Henry Collyns alias Brawne, William Mony the elder of Stacheden, John Foxe, Thomas Wyggyns.
