    Folio 69 - Richard Stoke of Chalgrave made 17 June pr. 18 Dec. 1556. [margin Robert Stoke] Soul to almighty God, our blessed Lady, and the holy company of heaven. Body to Christian burial To his father £5 and a copyholding in Drayton in Buckinghamshire. To his brother Benet the house with the appurtenances where William Olney lives. To his brother Thomas the house and its appurtenances where William Skawne lives and also £5 in money. To “either of my sisters” £5. To William Skawne the copyhold land bought of Mr. Smythe and [?]Acbuse during his lease, paying for it 8s. a year where he paid 10s. before, and also £3 in money which John Osborne of Tebworthe owes testator, and which should be repaid at Christmas next. To George Phensam £3 owed to testator by John Osburne and which is to be repaid at Easter next. To John Hebbes of Husbond Crawley a milch cow and he is forgiven 40 nobles which he owes testator. To his son-in-law Edmund Hebbes 20 marks and to his daughter-in-law Juliana Hebbes 20 marks. To John Bacheler 40s.. To Richard Hebbes four marks in money or a cart. To Alis Storye the 26s. 8d. she owes testator. To Richard Canysbey all the money he owes save one noble. He forgives Robert Alen 5s. that he owes, and William Kebell 2s.. He forgives William Bayly 2 bushels of barley saving his three days work that testator owes him. Testator owes William Wedgewarke £4 “cum Michaelis” (at Michaelmas). Testator owes Robert Porcey £3 or near about. His wife and his brother Benet are to be his executors, and brother to have for his work £5, and wife is to have the lease of testator’s farm with all the residue of his goods Witnesses John Hebbes, William Skawne, Master the vicar of Chalgrave, and others.
