    Folio 68 - Robert Peverell of Ocleye [Oakley] made 19 Sep. pr. 7 Oct. 1556. Soul to almighty God, our Lady, and the company of heaven, and burial in the church of Okleye beneath the “Goodman Stokes”. All his land in Okley both freehold and copyhold to wife Alis and son Nicholas for the life of his wife, and on her death all to son Nicholas and his heirs male begotten of his wife Sybell, and for default of such issue, to the right heirs of Nicholas. To his daughter Joan Peverell 20 marks to be paid to her by her mother and brother on her marriage, or when she departs from her mother for a reasonable cause, and the “quike Cattell” that Joan already has of the gift of the testator to be accounted as part of the 20 marks. To William Roseleye son of testator’s daughter Elizabeth the “bright Red bullocke with howd face of ij yeer old”, and also the better pan that once belonged to John Wiant clerk. The other pan is to go to daughter Joan as well as the 20 marks. “Item I bequeath my testamente to the Church of Okleye aforesaid”. To church of Okley 20d.. All other goods to wife Alis and son Nicholas, and they are to be executors. No note of witnesses.
