Folio 59 - John Frost of Cranfelde, senior, made 8 Apr. pr. 27 Apr. 1556. Soul to almighty God his maker and redeemer, to his son our saviour Jesus Christ our redeemer, and to our blessed lady St. Marie and the holy company of heaven, and burial in churchyard of Cranfeld.. To high altar a bushel of wheat for tithes forgotten; to the church of Lincoln 2d.; to the buying of a “Grall” [grail, a service book] 12d.; to the highway 6s. 8d.; to the bells 2s.. Wife Joan to have her dwelling with his son John for her lifetime, and on her death “the Remainder therof to Jhon’ Suger”. To wife Joan a cow, the bed where she sleeps, and her coffer with all that is in it, and also testator’s bed, for as long as she lives, and on her death to testator’s son John who is to be his executor to use the goods for souls. Supervisor to be Henry Wheler, he to have 4d.. Witnesses Robert Haysuch the curate, Michael Lake, Henry Wheler, William Vawre, John Suger.
