  • Title
    Folio 52 - Isabell Lane, widow, of Sowldrop, made 18th March [?]1553/4, proved 25 Feb. 1556/7. Soul to almighty God, our blessed lady the virgin Mary and all the blessed company of heaven, and burial in churchyard of Sowlledrope. To church of Lincoln 2d.; and to her mother church of Souldrope 6d.. Her two houses with all that belongs to them are bequeathed to testator’s three daughters Mergerye, Joan and Elen, to be divided between them. All her moveables to her daughter Elen except one brass pot, which is to go to her daughter Mergerye Hoge, which pot was her father’s, and also a pewter platter and 2 pewter dishes and testator’s best coffer, which are to go to her and her children. Mergerye Hoge’s husband and testator’s son in law, William Hoge, is to have half an acre of barley. Residue to daughter Elen, who is appointed executrix, with William Hog supervisor, he to have for his work “my old” and testator’s horse, which is already in his keeping. Witnesses sir Richard Hanger, parson there, William Hoge, Thomas Wooddam, Thomas by the Reye.
