    Folio 37 - John Clarke of Litelington [Lidlington] made 7 Feb. pr. 10 Mar. 1556. “I commit my self both bodye and sowll to the mercye of god” and burial in churchyard of Litlington. To wife Alis his copyhold lands in the parish of Litlington for 10 years, at the end of which term the lands are to held to the use of his youngest son John until his other son come to the age of 21, and during this time wife to occupy property renting the land at 6s. 8d. a year less than the market rent, all so that his children can be supported. During the time that his wife rents the land the rent is to be paid to Thomas Wright for the advantage of testator’s son. Each son to be heir of the other. To son Christofer a two year old black heifer and calf. He gives 2s. to help mend the highways. To wife Alis all the residue of his goods, to help bring up his chidren.
