    Folio 9 - William Preston of Dustabyll made 14 Oct. pr. 27 Dec. 1556. “I bequeth my sowlle to allmightye god to his blessed mother sanct Marye and to all the company of heaven” and burial in parish church of Dunstabyll. To the high altar to be prayed for 2s.. To the church of Lincoln 1d.. To his brother Thomas Preston 10 quarters of barley and his best coat. To brother John Preston £6 13s. 4d. and the second best coat, a pair of hose and the second best doublet. To sister Elyzabeth and to her husband £4. To John the son of testator’s daughter Elizabeth £4 to be delivered at the age of 20 years, and to William Browne her second son £3 6s. 8d., and to Elizabeth, her daughter, £4 to be given her on her marriage day. To William Preston son of testator’s brother John Preston 40s. to be given him at the age of 20, and to his daughter Christian 20s.. To Alis and Mercy Cowle, the sisters of testator’s wife, £5 and £6 13s. 4d. respectively to be paid on their marriage days. To Agnes Smith 20s. “To Nycolas my boy which was gyve me, £6 13s. 4d. to be delivered him at his age of 20 yeres”. To each godchild 8d.. Executors to give on burial day 40s. to the poor people, and the same amount at his month’s mind. To Sysylye Feyerston a quarter of malt at Michaelmas next. Executrix to keep a yearly dirige for testator and for all Christians for the next 7 years, giving to the poor each year 6s. 8d.. To Roger Fynce 10s. and to testator’s ghostly father 6s. 8d.. Residue to wife Johanne who is executrix, and overseers Richard Denton, Roger Fynes and John Davye, “and I gyve to them bothe 40s. 20s. a peese for theyr paynes takinge”.
