Evidence of Sarah Cooper, wife of George Cooper, Shoemaker of Biggleswade. She was at her brother's (William Francis) house when her husband came round, very drunk and struck her with his fist on her forehead. Her daughter, Laura Cooper and Annie Walker came between them. He raised his fist again to strike Sarah but she took up the poker and hit him across the head and made it bleed. He went away. Sarah Cooper asked for her husband to be bound over to prevent him from causing her bodily harm. He was bound over to keep the peace for 6 months.
