Evidence of Allen Brown, 12 years of age, of Beeston. He was oging home from school with Charles Humphries. They had words and began fighting when George Wagstaff of Beeston came acroos the field and hit Brown several times with an onion seed stake across his shoulders, back and legs and swore at him. This happened on Church Road, near Beeston Chapel. Brown said he did not have a knife. Evidence of Kate Brown, sister of Allen. She said Charles Humphries had a knife and said he would stick her. Wagstaff then came and hit him several times with an onion seed stake. Her brother did not have a knife. Evidence for defence of Alfred Usher of Seddington, that they were both fighting and had knives but Brown was on top of Humphries and said he would stick him. Wagstaff called them 3 times, then went to them and hit Brown over the legs with an onion seed stake 2 or 3 times. Brown's was a little knife, Humphries had a larger one. Case dismissed.
