Report of PC Eli Bayes stationed at Henlow. John Howard, Tramp, was going from house to house begging. PC Bayes followed him to a house occupied by Mr Daniels. When he tried to search the tramp he became very violent and abusive and 'pulled out his person' and tried to show it to Mrs Daniels. PC Bayes took him away but the tramp kicked at 'his privates'. PC Bayes had to throw him down and handcuff him. He was the worse for liquor. Begging. 1 calendar month hard labour.
