Abstract of title of Henry and Charlotte Land to four cottages in or near Park Street, Woburn, Beds: Reciting: - ‘as to one cottage’: (I) R6/63/26/1-2; (II) R6/63/26/3-4; - ‘as to one other of the said cottages’: (III) R6/63/26/5-6; - ‘as to all the said cottages’: (IV) will of Abigail Sheffard dated 10th Oct 1790 whereby after devising certain property she bequeathed the residue of all her real and personal estates unto her daughter Catherine Reddall and her heirs; (V) proved by Catherine Reddall at Canterbury on the 17th Dec 1790; (VI) Catherine died widowed and intestate leaving Richard Ambrose Reddall her only son and heir at law; (VII) will of Richard Ambrose Reddall dated the 6th Jul 1841 whereby he bequeathed all his estates in the several parishes of Woburn, Aspley Guise, Husborne Crawley, Beds and Linslade [Buckinghamshire] to Ann his wife for her life, after her decease the said four cottages were to be devised to his cousins Henry Land and his sister Charlotte Land. Endorsed with solicitors note signed 22nd Dec 1849… ‘We have perused the last Abst[ract] sent which certainly appears, rather than the Abstract previously furnished, to apply to the 4 cottage sold. But the identity requires to be further evidenced. The cottages conveyed by the 1st & 3rd Dec [embe]r abst[racte]d are both described to be situate in Woburn, but it is not stated in what street - & the 2 cottages conveyed by the Inde[nture]s of 1774 are described to be situate in Mill Street. It should be shown that all the 4 cottages conveyed by the [?] Decrs were really situate in Park Street. And evidence should be furnished of the intestacy of Catherine Reddall’. - extracted with handwritten annotations by Wing & DuCane, solicitors for the purchaser [Duke of Bedford] and Green of Woburn for the vendor [Ann Reddall, Henry Land and Charlotte Land].
