- TitleLetter from Halliley & Morrison of Mill Street, Bedford, solicitors to Mr. Charles Wynn of Orchard Cottage, Woburn Sands… ‘We have been consulted by Messrs. Cooper & Slaughter in reference to their account against you the balance of which as rendered in November last, amounts to £75:14:6. We understand that there has been some dispute about the amount and that in consequence our clients called in their Surveyor who estimated that they might fairly have charged you about £40 more. However as our Clients sent in the lower Account they do not at present wish to take advantage of their Surveyor’s figures and therefore they have instructed us to inform you that if we receive your Cheque for £75:14:6 by Wednesday next they will accept the same in full settlement – otherwise they will feel at liberty to proceed for the full amount for which they are advised you should fairly be charged’.
