Letter from Arthur Thorn to J.H.Hoare: "I received yours of the 20th. Am sorry to be giving all this trouble especially as I have known the Grays & Wallaces since childhood. I could have settled this for a very much smaller ammount [sic] some years ago. Feeling present demand excessive I am resisting it on principle. But to save further trouble I will pay up the £5 to settle it or let it go to the M of A when I have reason to believe I shall get considerable reduction".
