- TitleLetter from Stanley Robinson & Commin at 11 St.Peter's Street, St.Albans [Hertfordshire] to George Jones at Dunstable "Manor of Houghton Regis site of 4 cottages, Befrod [sic] Road. In answer to your letter to us of the 17th ultimo we beg to give you the following information. The Manor is called the Manor of Houghton Regis, and the date of last Admission was the 29th August 1882, when a Mr.Alfred Goosey was admitted tenant. The property was then described as being situate in a street known as Bidwell, Houghton Regis. The fine paid on this admission was the sum of £15 and the rents were put down at 7d and 9d. Mrs.Mary Jane Goosey, who is we presume the widow of Mr.A.Goosey, does not appear to have been admitted, but we presume she should be. Perhaps you will kindly let us hear from you as to this.
