  • Title
Letter from Cookson, Wainewright & Pennington of 6 New Square, Lincoln's Inn [Middlesex] to Benning & Son of Dunstable "We enclose the draft Steward's Copy Admission of Miss Stevens with Plan annexed. I consequence of your annexing the Plan to the draft and therein referring to it, we have found it necessary to make a few alterations in the draft, which you will see are made in violet ink. The Plan as supplied by you seemed rather imperfect we have therefore had the name of the Road written in - coloured the heriotable portion of the copyhold pink on the plan & the remainder blue. We do not know what the dotted lines nearly in the centre of the blue are intended to represent. Neither do we know whether they are correct. They are not shewn upon our copy of the Inclosure Map. Please give us some explanation upon these points. We shall be glad if you will also inform us how you have ascertained that that portion of the copyhold coloured pink on the plan contains about 40 acres & 1 rood. Be good enough also to state how you know that the respective measurements of 1012 feet and 606 feet are correct. Please peruse our alterations and refer to the Plan and return both to us as early as you can do so".
