Reciting: - Eve Martin is seized for life to a copyhold close in Woburn known as Houghtons Close and (iii) are seized to the reversion upon her death; - R6/63/16/1; - agreed that (i) would convey (a-c) to (iii) & (iii) would surrender one moiety of the Upper or W part of Houghtons Close in Woburn of 2a 14p to (i) for his use forever; Operative: - in consideration of the said agreement (i) conveys and enfranchises (a-c) to (iii) Property: (a) moiety of the lower or E part of a copyhold close in Woburn called Houghtons Close, bounded S by Wind Close, W by a freehold close of (i) and abutting into Woburn Town, now in the occupation of Joseph Butcher… ‘and is now bounded or fenced out from the upper or west part thereof’; (b) moiety of the lower or E part of a freehold close in Woburn of 2a 2r 3p with the moiety of a barn standing thereon now in the occupation of Brookes Shepherd; (c) moiety of a freehold pightle of pasture in Woburn of 1½a late in the occupation of Martha Woolhead, widow and now of George Bosworth; bounded S by copyhold property of Thomas Ashpole and N,E and W by pasture ground of (i). Habendum: - unto (iii) to the use of Eve Martin until her decease; - after, to the use of Thomas Gale and Eve his wife until the death of the survivor of them; - after, to the use of any issue or rightful heir. - signed by (i), (ii) & (iii). - witnessed and signed by Goddard Urlin and Charles Pyne.
