Hockliffe, yeoman. - - A cottage in which John Woodfaine lived &
now used by Danl. Osborne as a workshop, in the South Street of Dun-
stable, with the messuage formerly of Ann Arnold, widow, on S., &
that formerly of John Burrow on N., & fronting E. on Watling St.;
also a yard adjg. (18 1/2 ft. long); a cottage, formerly the dwelling
house of John Cooke, now of Geo. Mitchell, adjg. to the first mes-
suage, with the ground late of John Briggs, gent., decd., & now of
sd. John Miller, on N., & fronting E. on Watling St.; & also a yard
adjg. (18 1/2 x 14 sq.ft.) & also a cottage in South Street, formerly
in occ. of Wm. Groom, & now of Danl. Osborne, adjg. to messuage for-
merly of Wm. Groome S., & that formerly of John Woodfaine N., &
fronting E. on W.S. (All purchd. from Grace Burrow & Eliz. Drew in
1765). Also 2 messuages in the Church End of Dunstable (now in
one tenement), with the messuage of Nathl. Groom on W., & the stable
of John Miller sen. on E., & fronting N. on the common street; for-
merly in occ. of Wm. Stevens & Jane Warner widow. (Purchd. from Thos. Wilds in 1708). And also a messuage in Dunstable (as in BH274).
