Letter from Charles James Yates of Compton House, Woodgrange Drive, Southend-on-Sea [Essex] to Frederic Tanqueray… ‘Your letters to hand, I did not think their was any haste & as I was and am in the thick of my seasons trade did not write. My brother is the eldest of us & that is partly why I left it thinking I might get a chance to see him. I am willing to do as you suggest if you think it will go through alright, it is a lot of bother for nothing is’nt it, if not my brother’s address is William M[?] Yates, 86 Glengall Rd, Old Kent Rd, S.E. I can quite understand Mr Hammond wanting to have it settled up’.
