Draft conveyance - from (i) James Harold Howard of The Grange, Kempston, Esquire to (ii) Thomas David Pilcher CB of 17 Washington House, Basil Street, London, Major General; Charles Richard Jebb Griffith CB, CMG, DSO of Snowdon, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, Brigadier General and Thomas Hammond of The Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall, London, Colonel - reciting that (ii) were trustees of the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regimental Association for the erection and maintenance (amongst other objects) of a War Memorial; - reciting that control of the memorial, once erected, would be in the hands of a constituted council; - witnessing that (i) donated and conveyed to (ii) free of charge 4 poles of land on the north side of the road leading from Bedford to Kempston as shown on an attached plan; - for the (ii) to erect a War Memorial on the land - the deed is witnessed, amongst others, by Sarah Ann New, of 33 Kennerton Street, Knightsbridge, cook [ex WV 1/5/1]
