    Abstract of Title to the War Memorial site abstracting an indenture of 27 Jun 1894 - between (i) James Harold Howard of Kempston Grange, Geoffrey Howard of Essilmont, Bedfordshire and John Frederick Nutter of Caldwell Priory, Bedford to (ii) JHH; - reciting that James Howard, late of Clapham Park, agricultural implement maker in his will of 22 May 1888 appointed (i) as his trustees; - reciting that James Howard died on 15 Jan 1889 and his will was proved in PPR on 6 May 1889; - reciting an agreement for sale of 2 Mar 1894 between (i) and (ii) for £14,000; - reciting case no. 1,256 in the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice (Brown v. Howard) in which notwithstanding JHH being a trustee of the will it was ruled that he could purchase the estate for £14,000; - witnessing that (ii) paid to (i) £14,000 for 194 acres, 2 roods, 9 perches known as the Kempston Grange Estate as delineated on an attached plan drawn up under an indenture of 15 Mar 1887 between John Christie McNare and George Robert Winter and JHH.
