    Probate of the will and codicil of Frederick John Coleman of Dunstable Road, Luton, Beds: - administration of the estate granted to James Kingston Fowler and Hugh Cumberland, executors; - gross value of estate amounts to £10609/1/5 of which £509/12/6 is payable as estate duty; - Including copy of will dated 23rd Jul 1908 and codicil dated 23rd Sep 1908, extracted by Frederic Tanqueray of Woburn, Beds: Will dated 23rd Jul 1908: - Appointing James Kingston Fowler of Mayfair, surgeon and Hugh Cumberland of Luton, auctioneer and estate agent as executors; bequeathing: - £100 each to executors; - £10 to Robert Hobourn; - £10 to servants Harriet Annie Tompkins and Bertha Annie Bean if in my service at my decease; - £10 for mourning for said servants; - masonic charity jewel to Mrs Gertrude Buckhurst; - cigar cabinet and Masonic clothing bag to George Wardell; - remains of masonic jewels and regalia to St.John the Baptist Lodge, No.475, Luton, also £50 towards the fund for building the new Masonic Temple at Luton; - £4000 and various jewellery to nephew Frederick John Flint; - if a mortgage of £5000 secured on the George Hotel, Luton is subsisting at decease, £4000 of sum should be transferred to Frederick John Flint in lieu of above bequest; - household goods of every description to trustees upon trust to sell at auction and pay proceeds as follows: £25 to vicar and churchwardens of Christ Church, Luton; £25 to the Children's Home, Luton and £25 to Bute Hospital, Luton. - If I survive my sister Selina Flint and the twenty London & County Bank Shares revert to me, I bequeath the said shares to her son Frederick John Flint; - £10 mourning to housekeeper in my employment at my decease; - all residue of personal and real estate unto trustees upon trust to sell, call in, collect and pay proceeds as follows: £200 to John Charles Fowler, £100 each to Frederick Bernard, Margaret Ethel, Marion Fowler and Edith Waters the children of John Charles Fowler; £500 and two entrance dishes to James Kingston Fowler; £250 each to Winna and Edward, two children of my late wife's brother Edward Henry Tompkins; £200 to Edward Henry Tompkins; £250 to May Tompkins, £200 each to Edith Garrard, Adeline Pledger and Frank Tompkins, the children of my late wife's brother, Thomas Tompkins; £350 to Gertrude Buckhurst; £150 each to Charles, William and Joseph Powell, children of my late wife's sister, Ann Powell; £200 to Ann Powell; £25 to Annie Morrison, wife of William Morrison of Lichfield; - remainder of residue to be divided into six equal parts between: John Charles Fowler; James Kingston Fowler; Frederick John Flint; Ann Powell; Edward Henry Tompkins; Edith Garrard, Adeline Pledger, May and Frank Tompkins; - trustees to employ Frederic Thomas Tanqueray of Woburn, Beds to obtain probate. - witnessed and signed by Henry Abraham of Ashligh, Luton, plait merchant and Amos Gray of Rozel, Great North Road, Dunstable. Codicil dated 23rd Sep 1908: - revoking specific bequests to St.John the Baptist Lodge of Luton and Annie Morrison; bequeathing: - remainder of masonic jewels and regalia to George Wardell; - further £25 to the vicar and churchwardens of Christ Church, Luton; - 10 guineas to the treasurer of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys; - 10 guineas to the treasurer of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls, Clapham Junction; - 10 guineas to the treasurer of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution for aged freemasons and widows, Croydon; - witnessed and signed by Amos Gray of Dunstable, plait merchant and Thomas Hawkes of 58 Crawley Road, Luton, plait salesman.
