  • Title
Mr. Malden to Mr. Symonds. Thanks him for his letter "and had I not been well acquainted with your censorious spirit, and the badness of your temper, I should have been very surprized, but when I considered the multiplicity of sentiments in your head, I did not wonder; A Baptist, a Pharisee, a Presbyterian, and part of a Pope". Goes on to explain this and quotes scripture readily. Whereas he had signed off in 11 above as "I remain your affectionate friend and I hope brother in the best bonds", this one he ends with I "remain your unworthy servant"
