- Title"Bedford 29 Decr. 1772. We whos Names are hereunto subscribed being much dissatisfied with Mr. Symonds's change of Sentiments, and the ill treatment we have received from him and the brethren since, who have in a manner thrust us out by bidding us go away. Therefore in order to enjoy the Ordinances of the Gospel in the way which appears to us most agreeable to the Word of God, and which corresponds with the Ministers opinion whom we advised with, think it our duty to form ourselves into a distinct society, and we do hereby oblige our selves annualy to pay by half yearly or quarterly payments the respective sums set against our names, towards the support of an Independent Minister, one that is a Calvinist in Doctrine, and of the Paedo baptist Persuasion. And do agree to continue the said Subscription for five years if it is found necessary." Twenty-four names with sums varying from £10 10s to 10s. Jn. Howard being responsible for the larger sum.
