  • Title
    Occurrence Report of PC William Sibley stationed at Meppershall. He was on duty at Clifton when he heard a disturbance near the ADmiral Beer House. Charles and Moses Carter both labourers of Clifton were drunk. Charles Carter had his coat off and both wanted to fight. PC Sibley asked them to leave several times. They refused, the younger Carter saying to his father 'You fight one and I'll fight the other'. When the PC threatened to lock them up they went away. David King of Clifton who was in the Admiral Beer House, said that the younger Carter was not drunk, that he helped his father who was drunk. Charles Dilly of Clifton, said that Moses Carter was not drunk. Charles Crouch of Clifton saw a row outside the Admiral Beer House. Moses Carter nad his father . He said that Moses was very drunk and wanted to fight. He had seen Moses drinking beer. Charles Carter, fine 2/-, costs 8/- or 7 days. Moses Carter, fine 2/-, costs 11/-.
