    George Smith was examined on a charge of felony. Information of Samuel Mehew who worked for Mr Edward Twelvetrees that he was Blunham on the 28 August on the same job as George Smith. On Monday 23 August Samuel Mehew worked from 8.00am to 7.30pm, George Smith was not at work. Meyhew was at work the whole week but he could not say whether George Smith worked before the other men for an hour each day. Information of John Parish White, foreman to Mr Twelvetrees who states that he had gone to George Smith for his work on Monday 13 August. Smith said he had worked for ten and a half hours. White asked him 'Were you not at Bedford?'. Smith replied 'Yes but I made the time another way'. he said he had worked for five and a half hours on the Monday and an extra hour each of 5 mornings before the men came in to make up hte time. White paid him four and ninepence halfpenny. for the 10 hours and a half. Edward Twelvetrees said he had paid George Smith eight and a half hours for work on the Saturday. The case was dismissed and Edward Twelvetrees, of Biggleswade, the Prosecutor was granted 2/6 expenses. John Parish White, of Biggleswade, Witness was granted 2/6 expenses. Samuel Meyhew, of Biggleswade, Witness was granted 2/6 expenses.
