    Mortgage Parties: (i) John Cotchin of Luton, Beds, manufacturer. (ii) William Bigg of Luton, gentleman. Operative: - Mortgage from (i) to (ii) for £800 with interest at £5 per annum. (i) conveys (a-c) to (ii) as security for repayment. Property: (a) Messuage or tenement and premises lying in Wellington Street, Luton formerly in the occupation of Alfred Anstee and late of James Clarke which was purchased by (i) from Alfred Anstee by conveyance dated 4th Dec 1854; bounded on the NE by hereinafter described premises formerly in the occupation of John Beeby since of Samuel Toyer and now of (i), SW by a messuage and premises formerly of John Gray and now of Joseph Andrews & SE end by ground formerly of Edmund Waller afterwards of James Waller late of Joseph Linger and now of (i). (b) Messuage or tenement and premises situate at Wellington Street adjoining (a) which was purchased by (i) from Joseph Linger by conveyance dated 14th Aug 1851 and was formerly in the occupation of John Beeby afterwards of Charles Stockdale Benning and late of Samuel Toyer; bounded on the NE by a messuage and premises late of Joseph Anstee and then (i) in the occupation of William Garrard, SW by (a) & SE by (c). (c) Piece or parcel of ground at the rear of (a-b) which was purchased by (i) from Joseph Linger by conveyance dated 6th Sep 1852 situate in Stuart Street, Luton with the barn adjoining, containing 15p; bounded on the NE by a garden in the occupation of Miss Haydon, SE by a garden belonging to Thomas Cox occupied by Mrs. Waller and by other ground sold by James Waller to Mrs Parkins and others & SW by Stuart Street. - (a-b) were built by John Gray on ground conveyed to him by the Marquess of Bute by conveyance dated 13th Dec 1843 and with (c) had since been laid together and formed one messuage & premises. Habendum: - Unto and to the use of (ii) subject to the usual mortgage covenants for redemption. Covenants: - (ii) to permit (i) to hold and enjoy (a-c) until any default in repayment. - If default, (ii) has power of sale. - Signed by (i) & (ii). - Witnessed and signed by Charles A. Austin of Luton, Beds, solicitor. - Endorsed with release dated 1st May 1866 between (1) (ii) (2) (i) (3) Josiah Wright of Luton, Beds, straw plait dealer & Frederick Barford of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, manufacturer. Reciting: - Deed dated 29th Jun 1865 between (2), (3) and the creditors of (2) whereby (2) conveyed all his estate and effects unto (3) to be applied and administered for the benefit of the creditors of (2) in the manner as if (2) had been at the date thereof duly adjudicated bankrupt. - (3) with the concurrence of (2) have agreed to sell all interest in (a-c) to Philip Patton Blyth, John William Burmester and William Champion Jones (trustees of the London & County Banking Company) subject to the principal mortgage dated 29th Jun 1860. Operative: - In consideration of 'the premises' (1) releases and discharges (2) & (3) from the estate and effects comprised in the recited deed of the 29th Jun 1865. - ((a-c) secured on the recited mortgage is not apart of this release).
