    Copy will of Robert Crouch of Dunstable, Beds, bricklayer. - Proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on the 4th Jun 1751 by oath of James Crouch his son. Giving & Devising: - Messuage or tenement situate at Dunstable where Thomas Giddons now dwells, my shop which Philip Cowley rents of me, one cottage where Thomas Atkins now dwells and one tiled barn standing in the upper part of the backyard next to the orchard fronting the South Street called Watling Street to my eldest son Thomas Crouch of Uxbridge, Middlesex, bricklayer. - £40 to said son. - Messuage or tenement where George Oliver now dwells standing in the Middle Row, Dunstable; a barn standing in a place called Molldick now in the occupation of the town for the use of the workhouse with one garden on the backside next to a lane called Pudding Lane in the occupation of Faith Edge; Messuages or tenements at Dunstable Church End where Thomas Angles now dwells; Messuages or tenements situate in the South Street of Dunstable in the occupation of Esther Roe and fronting Watling Street to my son John Crouch. - 8 acres of arable & sward land lying and being at Pulloxhill which I purchased of William Arnall and Mr. Thomas Cawne to my son John Crouch, if he dies without issue then to my grandson Thomas son of my son Thomas Crouch subject to a yearly payment of £5 to my daughter Mary Gadbury. - Messuage or tenement in the Church End of Dunstable now in the occupation of Mary Matthews, widow to Mary Gadbury, after her decease to my son James Crouch. - Messuage or tenement now in the occupation of Mr. Field except the little place where his bellows hang which belong to my son Thomas Crouch to James Crouch, after his decease to my daughter Elizabeth Crouch the wife of James Crouch, after their decease to Hannah Crouch & Mary Crouch daughters of the said James and Elizabeth. - Four tenements situate at Dunstable Lane, Luton, Beds which I late purchased of William Winch to said James and Elizabeth Crouch, after their decease to their daughters. - £100 to Joanna Bird my daughter, wife of William Bird. - £100 to son Thomas Crouch upon trust to put out at interest and pay same to Joanna Bird, after decease to her eldest child, if without issue then to my two granddaughters Hannah and Mary Crouch. - £10 to my grandson Thomas Crouch, son of my son Thomas Crouch, until he attains age of 21 this amount is to be put out on interest by my executors and paid to him. - Best suit of cloth, both linnen and woollen stockings, shoes and my best silver buckles to my son Thomas Crouch. - One silver paint pot to my daughter Mary Gadbury. - My clock and case standing in my room to my daughter Joanna Bird. - A gold ring each to Lettice wife of Thomas Crouch, Elizabeth wife of James Crouch and Elizabeth wife of John Crouch, my three daughters in law. - Silver spoon with a round handle to my grandson Thomas Crouch. - Silver spoons to my two granddaughters Hannah and Mary Crouch. - Silver spoon to my grandson John Crouch son of my son Thomas Crouch. - One guinea each to the rest of my said son Thomas' children. - All residue of my personal estate to my sons and joint executors John and James Crouch.
