    Release being part of a Marriage Settlement by Lease & Release. Parties: (i) Robert Crouch of Dunstable, Beds, bricklayer. (ii) Thomas Crouch of Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Middlesex, bricklayer (son & heir apparent of (i)) & Lettice Webb of Dunstable, spinster. (iii) Thomas Crawley of Luton, Beds, cordwainer & John Crouch of Dunstable, bricklayer, another son of (i). Reciting: - Intended marriage between (ii). Operative: - In consideration of the said marriage (i) conveys (a-d) to (iii). Property: (a) All that messuage or tenement standing in the South Street of Dunstable where John Cumberland now dwells; abutting on the common highway or road called Watling Street; towards W and near unto a pond called Fryers Pond and towards N by cottage or tenement of (i) in the occupation of Mary Hopkins & another cottage or tenement of (i) in the occupation of Philip Cowley. (b) All that maultinghouse or maulthouse now or lately used with & adjoining (a). (c) Barns at South Street, Dunstable in the backyard containing three bays of building. (d) Orchard belonging to (a) lying near South Street; bounded E by close called the Pryory; S by ground of Humphrey Daniell & W by a barn of (i) called the Upper Barne. - (b-d) are also in the occupation of John Cumberland. - Together with free passageway at all times through certain property including from Watling Street through the Gatehouse next to the Star Inn & by an orchard of Elizabeth Pomfrett. Habendum: - Unto (iii) to the use of (i) until the intended marriage, after marriage to the use of (i) for his natural life, after decease to the use of Thomas Crouch for his natural life, after decease to the use of Lettice Webb as a jointure made In lieu of dower & after her decease to the use of the heirs of Thomas Crouch forever. - Signed with the seals of (i), (ii) & (iii). - Witnessed and signed by Arabella Woodward, Thomas Howard, Richard Smith, James Crawley & Elizabeth Staokes.
