    Covenant to Surrender Parties: (i) Angelina Townsend of Snenton [Nottinghamshire], widow; (ii) Elizabeth Richardson of Roy Croft Lodge, Uttoxeter [Staffordshire], widow Reciting: - covenant to surrender by way family settlement of 24 Feb 1860 by Samuel and Angelina Townsend to Thomas Richardson of (a)-(e); - surrender was never made; - death of Samuel Townsend [see R6/63/6/23]; - death of Thomas Richardson on 27 Mar 1860 leaving a will of 28 Apr 1852 appointing (ii), his son James Cope Richardson and Thomas Cope as executrix and executors and devising to (i) and Thomas Cope all estates vested in him by way of mortgage, trusts etc.; - proof of will of Thomas Richardson on 12 May 1860 in Lichfield DPR; - Thomas Cope renounced executorship and died on 18 Dec 1869 [see R6/63/6/24] Operative Part: - (i) covenanted to surrender (a)-(e) to (ii) Property: (a) messuage in West End, later called Leighton Street, Woburn called Greyhound formerly in occupation of John Ireland, then Samuel Turvey, then William Brandom, then Benjamin Foxley and Thomas Burt, then James Fowler; (b) messuaqe adjoining (a) formerly in occupation of John Ireland, then John Bull, then John Tift and William Odell, then James Fowler; (c) brewhouse adjoining (a)-(b); (d) malthouse adjoining (a)-(b); (e) pightle of pasture called Home Field of one acre near (a)-(b); (c)-(e) formerly in occupation of John Osborn, then James Fowler; (a)-(e) bounded: messuage, garden and close formerly of Robert Carey, then his widow E; messuage, garden and close formerly of Mrs.Edmunds, then Henry Rock W; close of Duke of Bedford N; Leighton Street S; Witness: - George Cooper of Uttoxeter, solicitor
