    Copy Statutory Declaration of Elizabeth Salisbury of Earl Shilton [Leicestershire], widow by Wing and DuCane: - she was 70 and widow of John Salisbury, formerly of Leicester, then Earl Shilton, sadler, being married on 9 Oct 1843, she his second wife; - they later moved to Red Lion, Ear Shilton; - John Salisbury died on 21 Dec 1848 and was buried in Earl Shilton; - she had known John Salisbury's first wife, Sarah and that she died in Jan 1841 and was buried at St.Margaret's, Leicester; they had been married at All Saints, Leicester and she was from Stony Stratford [Buckinghamshire], having been called Sarah Browne; - John Salisbury lived hear the declarer's first husband in Leicester, visiting their brush business; - John and Sarah had two children who survived early infancy - Samuel and Daniel Skinner, the latter being known as a schoolboy in Leicester to the declarer; - Sarah Salisbury had two sisters in Woburn who wished Daniel Skinner Salisbury to live with them after his mother's death; which he did, living with Elizabeth Skinner until he was accidentally shot and killed; - Samuel was also living at Woburn when John Salisbury died and attended his funeral at Earl Shilton and he attended the proving of the will at Leicester; he received property from his aunt Elizabeth, went to Australia and died there; - John Salisbury had two brothers Thomas and William and two sisters Elizabeth and Mary; William was a soldier and drowned near Nottingham; Thomas was a journeyman sadler who lived and died in Nottingham, his widow being Theodocia; they had one child, Angelina [Townsend], her mother Theodocia living with her after her marriage; the declarer had visited and spoken with the family often; - the declarer had a book from her husband living family details as follows: his mother Lizabeth died 2 Oct 1827 aged 77; his uncle John Salisbury died 26 Oct 1833; his sister Mary died 29 Apr 1836 aged 54; his brother William died 6 Oct 1836; Joseph Salisbury died 27 Feb 1843 at Earl Shilton; Sarah Salisbury (mother of Samuel) died 12 Jan 1841 aged 53; - sworn before Frederick John Wood at Nuneaton [Warwickshire]
