    "I bequeth my soull to Allmeghtie God" and burial in churchyard of Craunefild. Wife Elzabeth to occupy half of all his ground in Wodende for her lifetime, and son William to occupy the other half with her, and on the death of wife Elezabeth all to remain to William after the custom of the manor. After death of wife property is charged with the payment to testator's son John of £3 within four years, at 13s. 4d. a year and 20s. in the last year. To his son Richard the younger another £3 that is 13s. 4d. when he comes out of his apprenticeship, and the same every year after, until £3 is paid. To son William a "Frebut" of arable land and the black horse with one eye and the third shod cart. To son Thomas the ground "that I dwellin " in the Towne Ende with all appurtenances after the custom of the manor, paying to testator's daughter Margrete 40s. at her age of 21. Thomas is to have also one red colt and the second shod cart, and one of the best hogs. William is to pay to testator's son Nicolas 40s. when he is of the age of 16, and Nicolas to have a yearling bullock and 3 sheep. To daughter Margret one black cow and 2 sheep. To son Richard junior a yearling bullock and 2 sheep. To John one yearling bullock and 3 sheep. To son Robert a half acre of wheat of Hareottes Crofte and half an acre of barley in Smale Brocke, 3 roods of pease of Neweland. To son Richard the elder half an acre of pease, one Newland next the town, one rood of barley butting at Crawley Hyght Way. His wife is to have the best shod cart and one horse. To the poor in the town of Craunefild who have the most need 6s. 8d.. to the highway between the church and testator's house 6s. 8d.. To Joan Cooke a calf weaned the next year and to her daughter Maryan an other. To Alys Rede one "she" [presumably sheep] The corn in the barn, the pease and barley, is to sow the land both at Townend and Wodend. Richard and Thomas are to pay to Richard the elder 20s. each. William Purrear senior is to be paid 40s.by William and Thomas so that testator's wife can have the choice of 6 of the best sheep, and these two are to have 10 of the next best with which to pay the same. To Margrete (after the death of testator's wife) 10 pieces of pewter now standing on the ambry, also the ambry itself, 2 candlesticks, a salt celler, a pewter pot, a basin, a laver, the best pan and the best pot, all after death of testator's wife. At that time also to son William the best pot save one, and to Thomas the third pot. To son Richard the younger the least pan save one. To Nicholas a posnet and a gallon pan. To John 2 pewter platters. To Richard the elder 2 pewter platters. To Robert the best kettle and to Maryan Cooke one platter. Thomas and William are to have all the plough timber. Residue to wife Elezabeth, who is an executor and son Thomas the other executor and John Odill to be overseer. Witnesses John Odill, William Sylles, John Shelley Curate of Cranfild to swear in executors.
