Scope and Content
"I Bequeth my soull to God Allmeghtie my maker and Redemer" and burial in the churchyard of Mapersall. To the poor men's box 3s. 4d.; to the poor folks of the same town 10s.. "I bequeth to the poore Fookes of Gromes Magna vjs. viijd." to be bestowed at the sight of the curate of the same town, and Thomas Whytbred and William Master.
To Edmund Master son of Richard Master £6 13s. 4d. and a black cow to be given him at 16 years of age, and should he die before the age of 16, then the legacy to go to his two brothers John Master and Antony Master. To John and Antony Master the sons of Richard Master £6 13s. 4d. to be divided between them, and also 2 kine in the keeping of John Snell and Antony Master. To John Master, Antony Master and Edmund Master the sons of Richard Master, testator's household stuff as brass, pewter and bedding, and when the goods are divided then Edmund Master to have the first choice.
To William Berett of Mapersall 26s. 8d. and to Margret Beret, William Beret's daughter, 6s. 8d.. To Thomas Beret testator's godson and Richard Berett's son, a cow now in his father's keeping.
To John Moge 10s. and to Alys Moge his daughter 6s. 8d.. To Alys Polter and Agnes Groment servants to Thomas Stryngar of Mapersall 10s. to be divided between them. To William Grumell a ewe and a lamb and 6s. 8d.in money. To [blank] Balland of Gretford Brege a cow and a red hued bullock now in the custody of the said Thomas Stryngar. To every child of Thomas Strynar of Mapersall 3s. 4d. each. To Thomas Harwad 12d.. To Agnes Warren servant to Thomas Stryngar a ewe and a lamb. To sir Thomas Bowker, Thomas Willimot and Roger Tylcocke 10s. to be divided equally among them. To Richard Hareson two bushel of barley. To John [?]Crokehorne 4s., to Thomas Wyllymot half a quarter of barley.
Residue to Thomas Stryngar of Mapersall and he to be executor "to bestowe as he thinke beste for the welth of my Soull". Supervisor sir Jeram Jonson, to whom 3s. 4d..
