    "I bequeth my Soull to Allmyghtie god to our lady sanct Mary and to all the holy compeny of Heven" and his burial to be in the churchyard of Barton in the Cleye. To Master Parson of Barton for tithes and offerings forgotten 8d.; and testator's son John shall cause 20 cart loads of flintstones to be laid in the highway of Barton between William Crawleis gate and John Pryors, that is two loads every year until the whole is done. Son John to give to testator's 4 daughters 3s. 4d. each, the first payment to be made three years after testator's death, and then the same sum each year until all are paid. John is also to give to Joan the daughter of testator's daughter Custans 3s. 4d. when she comes to the age of discretion. To son John testator's copyhold house and all the land that belongs to it except that testator's wife Esabell is to have a chamber at her own choice where she can make a fire, and she is to have also a half acre of tilth in the Este Fylde of Barton lying on a furlong called Gosse Furlong with the bean crop in the next year after the fallow; a half acre of tilth lying on Wo Furlong; a half acre of tilth lying in the North Fylde on the Hade furlong with the bean crop; half an acre of tilth in Lylland furlong; and a half acre of tilth in Radworth Fylde on a furlong called An Hight in Radworth with the bean crop. Son John is to bear all the costs of tilling and hoeing the land and his wife is to find the seed and all other charges. Residue to executors, his wife and his son John, "to disspose it to the plesurre of God and the helth of my soull". Witnesses William Hill, William Robynson, John Hill, James Prior.
