    Soul to "Godde Almyghty my only redeemer Savyor and maker" and his poor sinful body to be buried where it shall please God that he depart the world "I will gyffe and bequethe in redy money to be putt in the Grete Cheste within the churche of Henlowe Appoyntyd to kepe the money gyffyn for the releyf of the poore" 3s. 4d..To the four poor men of Henlowe that shall be appointed by his executors to bear his body to the church 3s. 4d. each, "And yf any of the seid iiij poore men so appoynted be nott Able to bere my seid body to the seid Churche that then every of them to apoynte another in ther stede and to gyffe ther seid depute owte of ther seid portion or Summe 4d.. To his second son Harry Ravyns and his issue the house in Stratton where one John Spenser now lives, with the appurtenances, and all other lands in Stratton, and in default of issue property to got to testator's youngest son Frauncis Ravyns and his issue, in default of issue property to go to testator's eldest son John Ravyn and his issue, with the proviso that Harry is not to meddle with the property until he comes to the age of 21, during which time son John Ravyns to manage the property to the use of Harry, and this arrangement to be supervised by Frauncis Pygott esquire if he is still living, otherwise by Thomas Pygott gentleman, the son and heir of Francis. To his youngest son Frauncis and his heirs the house at Bykylswade with its appurtenances (except for the close) in Shortemede, which close testator's wife Elyn is to have for the term of her life "with all loppynges toppynges and Shreddynges of woodde ", and on her death close to revert to Frauncis and his issue. Should Frauncis die without issue, then property to go to testator's son Harry Ravyn and his issue, in default to son John Ravyns and his issue. To Frauncis in ready money £10.at the age of 18, of which half to be paid by Elyn and half by eldest son John. To wife Elyn all debts due to him, and the yearly profit of the wool of 60 "well wullyd" ewes of the best of all testator's ewes for the term of her natural life, the sheep to be drawn out of the flock "att every sheretyme" To Elyn also half of all household stuff if she continues to dwell in his house with their son John. Should wife remarry then she is to have testator's bargain of Carelesse' house at Gravenhurst. To each godchild a sheep from his flock if they come to testator's son John within six months of his death. To daughters Elizabeth and Jone 10 sheep each to be given them by son John when the girls need them. Daughter Margret Ravyn to have two beef and two bullocks which testator has said she should have at the time of her marriage. To Anne Hall 10 quarter of barley. To "every of my maydyns one quarter of barley". Residue to son John, to help him with the great charge of his occupancy and with the legacies, and "towardes the settyng fourthe of his twoo younger brethern". Executors wife Elyn and eldest son John Ravyns, with Frauncis Pygott esq. "my specyall good Master" overseer, and to the latter 40s.. Witnesses Thomas Rocheford. John Geddynge. William Aylborne.
