    "Furst I bequeth my Soull unto my only Savyor Jesus and my body to be bured where it shall plese God". To the poor men's hutches where "it shall plese God I shalbe bered" 3s. 4d.. To his father £30, and 4 oxen and a cow which is in the stall, also 9 oxen which are at Lymershey, also four score of his best sheep, all his mares and colts, his great bald horse, and a hundred quarters of grain, all of which testator owes to his father. To his wife 20 of his best kine, 100 sheep, 5 horses with plough and plough gear, cart and cart gear, and a piece of tilth ready sown, all his hogs, and all his household stuff. To son Robert a hundred sheep and 20 marks which his uncle Kydley owes to testator, and the "bargan" of the same. To son Richard and daughter Agnes 2 hundred sheep [?each] which are to be sold and 20 marks arising from the sale to be a stock for Agnes, and the rest to remain to Richard as a stock, which "will drawe unto xl. Markes" "The wiche iiij hundreth shepe aforsaid I will to be equally devydyt". To testator's brother John a colt which goes in Flytton More. To brother Henry testator's best gelding. To his sister Jone one cow and one of his best bullocks. To his servant Clement one bullock. To "one Shipton" his godson a bullock, and to Henry [?]Pruter/Pinter a bullock. To the rest of his servants a ewe and a lamb each. The bullock which goes in Shepecote Close is to be sold to pay his rent at Michaelmas next. Residue to son Robert at the discretion of testator's brothers John and Henry, and his wife Agnes. Testator's father John Sparke to have the guiding of son Robert and all the stock bequeathed to him, which he is to get at the age of 18 years. Should he die before 18, then his legacies to be divided between his brother Richard and sister Agnes. Testator's brother John Sparke to have the guiding of testator's son Richard and his stock until the age of 18 years, and should be die before age 18, then his legacy to go to Robert and Agnes. Testator's brother Henry to have the guiding of daughter Agnes, and her stock until the age of 16, and should she die before 16, then her bequest be divided between Robert and Richard. Should all three children die then their legacies to go to testator's executors and overseer "they to disspose them for the welth of my soull". His executors his brothers John and Henry Sparke and wife Agnes, overseer father Robert Sparke. Witnesses sir James Turner vicar of Henlow, Thomas Worseley and Robert Sparke.
