G P Livius died 11 Sept 1856 will proved 3 Apr 1857, H S Livius renounced all claim 16 May 1857. - 28 Oct 1857 E T Cardale and John Iliffe paid money owing from mortgages of 6 June 1846 and 6 May 1852 - 14 Aug 1858 E T Cardale paid money owing on mortgage of 18/19 July 1830. - Sale by auction at Swan Hotel at which G Wells declared highest bidder at £3000. -Messuage and gardens with 4 closes or parcels of pasture adjoining with 2 cottages or tenements situated in parish of St Cuthbert, Bedford. In all 18 acres 1 rood 26 perches. Messuage and 1 close in occupation of Joseph Clarke, cottages in occupation of Carter & White, 3 closes in occupation of John Carter. All formerly part of 36 acres 11 p called Road Field. Abutting N or NE - property formerly of G P Livius and now of John Palmer S or SW - road from Bedford to Goldington E or SE - part property of George Higgins, part property of the late Rev H S Livius w or NW - part land of Charles Robinson, part land of Recotory of St Peters Bedford, part land of Duke of Bedford, part land of Justice of County of Bedford and used for Militia Stores. Coloured pink and yellow on plan. Subject to rights of way for time being. Schedule of deeds produced back to lease and release of 1813 Earl of Ashburnham to George Livius. - Indenture 18 February 1876 George Wells to son Charles Wells of Bedford, brewer. - Endorsement to above Indenture that piece of land on south side of Goldington Road conveyed to Jane Sell 15 April 1901 - Indenture of 31 December 1912 (see Z1091/7/3A) - Will of J W Hobson appointing wife Rosamond Hobson, son Owen Ellis Hobson and nephew Charles Thornton Hobson executors and trustees dated 5 March 1916. Hobson died 9 April 1919. Probate granted 29 May 1919 to Rosamond and Charles Hobson, Owen Hobson having died. - Indenture 24 May 1923 (see Z1091/7/3H)
