    Letter from William Lipscomb (for the secretary and treasurer of the Bounty Office, 3 Dean's Yard, Westminster) to Frederic Tanqueray: - Bishop of Ely has approved the appointment of Mr. G.C. Walker to survey the value of land at Lidlington proposed to be sold. - In your letter of the 25th ultimo you state that subject to the necessary consents the Incumbents have agreed to sell the property for such a sum as will purchase £972 3 1/2 per cent India Stock. The Governors have no power to invest the proceeds of sale of Glebe in any stocks or securities at the special risk of the benefice. If the property be sold the proceeds of sale will remain as money, and interest will be allowed thereon to the Incumbent at the Governors' current rate, at present 3 per cent.
