- TitleReport and valuation on the proposed purchase by Mr. William Inwards Roberts of Glebe Land in the Parish of Lidlington currently held by the Incumbents of Ridgmont and Husborne Crawley: - The property which is freehold comprises three enclosures of No.87:7a 2r 19p, No 93:12a 0r 3p, No 92: 2a 2r 27p. (Numbers relate to the OS 25 inch to the mile series). - The Enclosures numbered 92 and 93 are old pasture - No 87 is arable at the present time and has a wheat crop upon it. - The holding is in the occupation of W.I. Roberts who pays £36 for the three fields. He does all repairs to fences and pays all outgoings which in addition to the usual local rates include: Tithe 17s and Land Tax £1/14/-. - There are no minerals of any value. - Sub soil is ordinary clay, there is no evidence of gravel or sand. - There are no building on the land but there are five trees three of which are elm one walnut one ash the last being very much decayed. - The small field numbered 92 has a frontage in part to the Village Street and the remaining part to a Lane leading to some cottages. - With the exception of the small piece which has a frontage to the Street no other part of the property appears to have any prospective value as Building Land and I consider the whole of the property is agricultural land and nothing else. - The Bedford and Bletchley branch of the London & North Western Railway runs through the property and the Lidlington station adjoins it. - I am of opinion that the property is worth about £44 per acre or in a lump sum £970. - Surveyed by G.C. Walker, auctioneer & valuer.
