Reciting: - Restricted building covenant stated in the conveyance dated 22nd Feb 1834 between (1) John Lord Bishop of Lincoln & William Stuart (2) John Crichton Stuart, Marquis of Bute and Earl of Dumfries and Maria Marchioness of Bute and Countess of Dumfries (3) Charles Austin (4) Thomas Erskine Austin. Operative: - In consideration of £7400 (i) conveys (a-d) to (ii). Property: (See attached plan) (a) George Hotel, Luton, Beds with yards, gardens and outbuildings etc. formerly in the occupation of Thomas Butlin then William Wadsworth and now (ii). (b) Messuage, tenement or warehouse fronting SW on George Street, Luton which adjoins on the SE side of (a) and is now in the occupation of William Cawdell. (c) Messuage or tenement known as the 'George Tap' fronting N or NE on Waller Street, Luton which adjoins (a) and is now in the occupation of (ii) or his under tenants. (d) Three messuages, cottages or tenements adjoining (c) situate and fronting N or NE on Waller Street, Luton now in the respective occupations of Alfred Pearson, Ralph Bleeze and Robert Cheshire. Habendum: - Unto and to the use of (ii). Covenants: - Widow not to endower out of (a-d) - Restrictive building covenant (See recital) whereby any purchaser of (a-d) may not build on the green shaded part of the attached plan without the consent of whoever is entitled to the Luton Hoo Estate. - Signed by (i) & (ii). - Intended to be witnessed and signed by F.C.
