The Receiving Order was made on the 18th May 1911, on the debtor's petition, and he was adjudged bankrupt on the same day on his own application. The Sheriff and High Bailiff were in possession of £20/16/10 and £11/15/6 respectively. 2. The debtor (aged 42) commenced business on his account as a builder and a plumber at Aspley Guise ten years ago, with a capitol of £20, which he had saved as a journeyman. 3. The books of account kept are day book, ledger and wages book. The ledger has not been posted since February last. No balance sheets or stock sheets have been prepared. The debtor admits that he has not kept proper books and that he has taken contracts too low. 4. The statement of affairs declares nine creditors whose debt exceeds £10, and of the total unsecured indebtness £327 is due to three creditors for money borrowed privately during 1910-1911, the balance being chiefly trade debts. 5. The debtor states that he first became aware of his insolvency six months ago, and has contracted debts since then which are still owing. He says he has lost money over a contract for £800, but he is unable to say how much; and that it has cost him a considerable sum to avoid executions and pay costs during the past two years.
