"I thank you for your letter of the 14th December and for letting me know that the fence at Miss Smith's house suffered during the recent high winds.
It must be sad to see The Firs being demolished and I hope that the same thing does not happen to Gloucester House as it could make a good home for somebody although I think that it will be developed in some way".
